THE BIG 6
Do you need to research a topic and don't know where to start? Use these 6 steps to guide your research!
1. Task Definition
What do you need to do? What are your teacher's requirements?

2. Get a Strategy.
Make a list of all possible sources. Think of both print and electronic sources. Does your teacher have any source requirements?
3. Brainstorm
Think of several search terms for your topic.
Remember: the database will only search for the terms you use so think of several terms to search.

4. Use the Information.
Go Shopping! Get the information out of the sources, take notes, and collect the bibliography information.
5. Get Organized.
Organize your information and write a rough draft. Are you following all of the teacher's guidelines?
6. Evaluate
Judge your work. Is it neat? Would you be proud if everyone knew this was your work?
